Sustainability

As a business that provides products for children, we understand the important role we play in minimising our environmental impact and ensuring a more sustainable future for the next generation.

We are continuously working to make improvements in all aspects of our business to ensure we drive sustainable change and become as environmentally friendly as we can. We are doing this through sourcing sustainable alternatives and responsible innovations wherever we can and promoting eco-friendly practices at our offices. We are members of a company called ‘Products of Change’ who further support us with our aim of driving sustainable change within our business.

We have already made huge progress, but we are on a mission to always do better.

Here are some of the current initiatives and changes we have made:

OUR SUPPLIERS

We constantly consider the sustainability of our products and material choices with our suppliers to ensure our products are as eco-friendly as possible. We are also members of the British Toy & Hobby Association (BTHA) and as part of working with the BTHA we ensure all our manufacturers and suppliers are subject to annual social audits to ensure compliance. This covers all areas of social compliance including ethical and responsible conduct, respect for the rights of individuals, respect for the environment, and commitment to the Modern Day Slavery Act.

OUR PRODUCTS

Every product is independently tested by accredited laboratories to the British and European Safety Standards (BS EN71 parts 1,2 & 3) and carries the CE & UKCA mark as signs of conformity.

All our products have been carefully designed to ensure they withstand the test of time and offer years of play. We invest in high-quality, long-lasting materials because it is important to us that our products will remain in your homes for years to come.

We are making every effort to ensure our products are as eco-friendly as possible and are always looking at ways to reduce as much plastic as we can from our products. All the stuffing used in our toys is made from recycled PET bottles. DesignaFriend dolls filling is made from 4 plastic bottles, Tiny Treasures dolls filling is made from 4 plastic bottles and Designabear soft toys filling is made from 7 plastic bottles.

OUR OFFICES

Our efforts to drive sustainable change within our business don’t just stop with our products. We are continually looking at ways to make our office environments as eco-friendly as possible. We strive to recycle as much as we possibly can, to reduce our energy consumption, and to donate product samples to nurseries, schools and charities.
